Porchlight should work for everyone who uses it.
Our commitment
We want Porchlight to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across our website, the admin app, the client portal and the field app.
What we do
- Use semantic headings, labeled form fields and a skip-to-content link so pages work with keyboards and screen readers.
- Choose text and background colors with attention to contrast, and keep text readable when zoomed.
- Design the field app to be used on a phone, quickly, while on a visit.
- Check new pages and features for accessibility problems as we build them.
Known limits
We are still improving, and we have not had a full independent accessibility audit. Some parts of Porchlight, such as older pages, third-party payment forms and content businesses upload (for example, photos without descriptions), may not be fully accessible. This statement is a goal and a commitment to work on it, not a guarantee.
Tell us about a problem
If something in Porchlight is hard to use, or you need information in another format, email hello@porchlight.pet. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use. We will reply within a few business days and work with you on a solution.
